Re: Syncing Movies (AVIs) To The HTC Titan...having some problems...
yeah i just realized i wrote that kind of retarded, i open on the pc my movies folder, resize it for half the screen then open my folder from the phone and resize it for the other half of the screen and then drag the movie over and drop it in the phone folder.... is the movie file converted to 320x240? and how big is the file you are trying to transfer?

It's actually not 320x240, but rather something like 320x200... For some reason I just think it looks much nicer. The thing is, Sin City was resized to that, but it worked PERFECTLY the first time that I just let it sit for a while. In fact, it was like you had said, after it actually got going, it only took about 5 minutes.
I ended up taking Sin City off my Mogul, and I tried to replace it with Iron Man. Unfortunately, it would get to about 15%, then just start all over again. It did this for about 30 minutes before I just gave up. (Had to get to class...) I thought that maybe it was simply the file, but now Sin City won't transfer over either. I tried restarting the phone, then restarting my PC, but nothing is working now... It's so frustrating. The file size is about 365mb. I have enough room on the card, but I just can't get it working again. Darn it...lol -Touche' Last edited by Touche'; 09-18-2008 at 11:13 PM. |

thats strange because i do this all the time, i think i have like 40 movies on my laptop that i transfer over at any given time.... all are between 200 to 500 mbs and it never takes more than a few minutes.. might be your pc maybe. do you have alot of programs running in the background?

You might want to give nueMassStorage another shot. Here's what I do:
-Plug your USB cable into your phone -On your phone, go Start > Settings > Connections > USB to PC -Select the second radio option "Mass Storage (USB Driver)" and hit "OK" -You should see the phone disappear from your PC and then reappear as a Mass Storage Device (or Removable Storage) -Open the new drive in Explorer and copy your files there. I download movies from surfthechannel all the time and simply copy them over with zero problems. A normal movie usually takes about 5 minutes or so to copy. Hopefully that will work for you.

I'm curious about something, why is using nueMassStorage better than just copying through ActiveSync???

Any time I've tried to copy very large files with Activesync it was a very slow and very painful process. It's fine for small stuff but when you get 400meg movies, unless you want to wait all day it helps to use alternate methods.

Re: Syncing Movies (AVIs) To The HTC Titan...having some problems...
I'm such an idiot...kinda... It was actually working the whole. It just LOOKED as if it wasn't working. It would go up about 4 bars, then go back to 0 (transfer bars). Even though it was doing that, it WAS working.
Thanks again for all the help! Now I can watch 'Iron Man' AND 'The Rocketeer' at work tonight! lol Remember 'The Rocketeer'? Good stuff... -Touche' |

Or you can do as I do, I just use Winamp remote and stream from Home PC. Never encountered serious problems with Lag or buffering. Thaat way I can access my entire library of media. without having to limit myself to 8 or 9 stored movies. Just a thought.
