Question ROM and Radio Upgrades

First off

My phone is company owned so 'cookin' and all other processes that void my warranty are out of the question.

I'm simply wondering if Alltel (my carrier) supplies these upgrades that I keep seeing around.

IE

ROM - my version is 3.35.671.9

Radio - my version is 03.37.20

Can I get carrier updates on these or how does that process work?

Still trying to figure out what the newer Radio version will do for me

TIA

what kind of phone are you using?...i think you are out of luck unless which ever phone you using have an official update from alltel or example htc...you have to stick with that radio and rom...cause updating either of those requires you to flash it...if you flash thats it takes to void warranty for most company...hope that helps.

Re: ROM and Radio Upgrades

radio also improves receptions on phone you can pick up on highspeed like 3g on some places you cant before and where u haev drop calls before you would have more bars and so on...also it depends on which radio version u use it can drain more battery or consume very lil battery than before.

3G is a standard not a tech tree.. just like 4g may include LTE (GSM Evolution) and WiMax(sprints 4g tech of choice), and ODFM (did i get that right i dont see anyone talkin about it anymore so i dont know if i got the acronym right)
