Re: Ram avail @ startup used tb 38% now 42%?
I'm a total noob, but I just flashed my phone to No2Chem's 20270. It's basically the same stuff your phone has now (actually much more), but cleaned up the OS to remove all the crap you don't need. My phone used to have less than 10% memory available, but no has more than 30% using the same apps, after I flashed it.
Search around and you'll find all the info you need to do it. |

Thanks Genikz! I felt I had no need to flash, since my GPS works already out of the box but if it will make things faster and cleaner then I'll do it!

You might want to go to the Touch forum though........

Re: Ram avail @ startup used tb 38% now 42%?
I use 1)dotFred task manager and 2) xios memory to see 1) what apps are still using resources after being closed and to force them to fully close and 2) to recover extra resources that other apps are holding onto but not using. Check out no2chem's nuetools site and there are some other small apps he has that really work great to tweak in the small stuff. Specifically there is the nuePerformance app that tracks the boot time and available memory after every soft reset. Extremely useful especially when you're removing apps and verifying what their memory load was. As with most things you'll find through this site, these guys bust their tails to do this stuff and if you find something that you really like and use all the time, think about donating.
