Tethering using WiFi through home wireless router

Sorry if this has been covered before, I'm a bit confused as to what I might and might not need. I have Time Warner internet through a wireless router, pc is too far a away to run cables. Can I use the WiFi on the Mogul tethered to the PC through USB to work with the router? Will I need additional software for this?

From what I've read, that cannot be done. You will need some kind of wifi connection card for your desktop.

there's a program called ICSControl that'll do it. using it can b annoying, but it still works.

Re: Tethering using WiFi through home wireless router

Thanks for the replies. I'm gonna pick up a wireless usb adapter for the pc, seems less hassle.

Re: Tethering using WiFi through home wireless router

From thread on XDA...

But it should also work with more "interesting" combinations like:
VPN to Wifi - get wireless clients onto a VPN
Wifi to Bluetooth - allow bluetooth network devices to access a WLAN.
Wifi to USB - basically the pda acts as a wireless network card for the pc

Seems to be what you need.

Re: Tethering using WiFi through home wireless router

I'm tethering through my router using WMWIFIRouter. If you check out the Knowledge Base on the WMWiFiRouter website it tells you how to do it.

And you could stop being cheap and buy a cheap Linksys WRT54G or something and use DD-WRT to extend the range. *snicker*
