Re: Sprint PPC6800 Successfully flashed to Metropcs
Wow I didn't know you can discuss what we're plainly discussing...
Thanks for the thanks.. I didn't even realize it till today. I'm one of those awful people that will go thru the forums with a fine-tooth-comb to find what I'm looking for but once I solve my problem I don't stick around much or make the way easier for those behind me. First off; I can't seem to find a CDMA workshop that will run for me.. they all want a serial and nod32 reports a virus in ALL of them I've ever seen. But I like cdma workshop when I was able to use it. for now I'm using qpst. I may be jumping the gun; but are you saying you are NOT able to read the ESN? that sounds like you don't have the Subsidy code or MSL or whatever it's call that locks the phones settings... but I thought I read earlier you have it at least ringing on Metro.. I sincerely hope that this thread is still active, and that I will be able to get help if I get stuck. Ive ordered a Mogul from eBay, specifically for this purpose. The consequences of all this, I care not. I just want to feel accomplished in doing this. Hang in there thread!

Re: Sprint PPC6800 Successfully flashed to Metropcs
Well I went to a metro dealer not a metro store (corp) and they were willing to do it... Just tell them that you know what you know a lot of people that have done it. All they need to do if their system does not recognize the phone (that happend to me in 3 different locations) it's that they need to contact support from Houdini ( they are SUPER NICE) and they will do it for them via remote assitance.
they charge about $50 but it is well worth it... Good Luck=D> |
Re: Sprint PPC6800 Successfully flashed to Metropcs

Re: Sprint PPC6800 Successfully flashed to Metropcs
Hi all great forum, this is my first posting.
I have a HTC titan from sprint flashed over to metropcs with full working MMS andWAP thanks to all the great people here at PPCGeeks. My question is this, it took me hours and hours of reading and trying different things before i got the mms to work, is there a way to backup these settings so if i install a new rom i dont have to fiddle with all the mms and wap settings? |
Re: Sprint PPC6800 Successfully flashed to Metropcs
good job on the ppc 6800. i have the simular verizon vx 6800, and have gps, internet, pic/text messaging, email, laptop tethering, for both metro service, as well as wifi. of course, wifi tethering is redundent, most laptops have wifi anyways. mine will let me watch youtube videos, streaming radio, etc... I laff when i see peeps bragging about there samsung finesses, hehehe no wifi, no tethering, no real flash video, or youtube abilities. no windows mobile. etc.... and at 385.00 ????? ouch! got my verizon vx6800 in mint condition for about 100.00 with everything included. yea!!!!! go metro...

Re: Sprint PPC6800 Successfully flashed to Metropcs
Sorry all but I am really really a newb. I just got an Alltel HTC PPC-6800. It is currently unlocked. I took it to my local MetroPCS store and they told me I wouldn't be able to use this phone. I see here that they are wrong. What's my next step to get this phone to work on MetroPCS. It currently has WM 6.1. I do currently have a MetroPCS account.

Re: Sprint PPC6800 Successfully flashed to Metropcs
OK So I cheated. I paid http://www.unlocktotalk.com/ and they unlocked and flashed my PPC-6800 to MetroPCS by remotely connecting to my PC with the phone attached. After about 15 minutes it was done & when I dialed 611 the MetroPCS operator answers. I tried calling MetroPCS to activate my phone but the ESN was not in their DB so they wouldn't do it over the phone. I took my phone to a local MetroPCS shop and 1st the guy said he couldn't flash it but I told him it was already flashed and I just need to add the ESN and activate. He did that and now I have phone functions. i am still working on WAP and MMS. The phone still has the Alltel ROM I guess since all the Alltel apps and shortcuts are still on the phone. Do I need to update the ROM and does anyone know where I can get a ROM to use? If I update the ROM will that kill everything else I've done?

Re: Sprint PPC6800 Successfully flashed to Metropcs
based on howard forums http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1496674
there is a list of places that will do it. i am in las vegas, and the only two places that wont be added are LAS VEGAS and New York. that said i called the one in redondo beach, cal and you can activate over the phone and they will add the esn to the database. it will cost you some money. $55 was my quote. for flashing i did not ask since RyanMogul has a thread with a walk through of how to on PPCGeeks and also on xda even has a download link on the things needed. so make sure to say thanks to him on either site. and donate. i hope this helps alot of you out there. |
