Help, phone freezes at boot up/how to recover from HTC Home problem?!?!

So I installed the new HTC ROM. Installed HTC Home, all is good.

I overwrite the HTC Home DDL with my patched one to set a custom city for the weather. I went back into the Today screen menu to turn on HTC Home, and it locks up!!

I rebooted the phone, and it gets to where it would show my today screen, and then freezes.

I can't reflash, since I can't set up an activesync connection, since the phone is frozen. How can I recover from this? I need my phone for work!!

Re: Help, phone freezes at boot up/how to recover from HTC Home problem?!?!

I'm using the Mogul and had a similar problem..I took it to Sprint and they wouldn't look at my phone since the sticker to identify water damage inside was red (which was complete BS..phone has never been wet). Anyway, I tried many things and eventually did the 'hard reboot' and now the phone works. Not sure of the exact steps on your phone for the hard reboot, but worth investigating if all your other methods crap out.

Try a hard reset. 2 soft keys and Reset button at same time. All of you data will be lost, but probably the only way you will get it to reboot.

Unfortunately you will need to hard reset. Again to hard reset, hold the 2 soft buttons (ones with the white dots). While holding them down, insert your stylus in the reset hole below the sd card slot.

FYI, I got custom weather working, it breaks if you use the auto patched, but manually hexediting the HTCHome.dll works.

The Home plugin you attached to post #8 is the only one I got working on my Verizon xv6800 after updating to WM 6.1.

Thanks!
