Help with HTC Home Weather Plugin

Hey guys,

anyone know how to properly form the XML for a certain city in the plugin?

from the XML file... Boston...

<city name="Boston, US" locationcode="NAM|US|MA|BOSTON"/>

Im looking to add Saratoga Springs NY, as thats where I live...

Instructions from the developer...

Code:
How to Change the Weather City:

First Step:
Go to http://www.accuweather.com/us-city-list.asp?zipcode=Campinas%2C+SP&u=1&partner=accuweather
And search your City, Country.

Second Step:
After you found your city, copy the end of information on the address bar to the clipboard (for example SAM|BR|BR023|CAMPINAS)

Third Step:
Edit the HH_409*.xml file in the Windows folder with notepad and save.

Fourth Step:
Now only select the new city on the list and done.
Seems the website in the instructions changed how they form the URL.

If someone would enlighten me as to how to form the XML tag, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

-Eric

Re: Help with HTC Home Weather Plugin

i doubt that they have saratoga in the htc.accuweather database (there are very few cities available without doing a hack that's way over my head - i live in south county, ri and new london isn't supported so i just use providence). i would think albany is in there, so i would just add this into the .xml file....

<city name="Saratoga Springs" locationcode="NAM|US|NY|ALBANY"/>

Thanks Rip,

I did try that, thinking thats the closest city, but no dice.
Hell, Albany is the most pathetic state capital, it doesnt deserve to be on the list.
Thanks for the idea, I appreciate it!

Re: Help with HTC Home Weather Plugin

I found the solution, I downloaded the HTC Home Customizer, it downloaded a new HTC Home plugin, and it managed the weather interface.

Then I moved onto getting the WeatherPanel, which is a great weather tool, much more than I thought it would be, coming from a former Meterology major, thats a good thing.
