HTC home problem since updating to new custom rom

i'm having one minor problem since upgrading to a dcd custom rom that i can't seem to figure out. when using HTC Home, before i could go to my text message icon and it would open up my texts. then i could go to my email icon and i could view all my email. now, if i go to my text icon and view my texts then go to my email icon it just brings up my texts, the only way to view the email is to change folders. basically the email icon shows whatever folder was shown last.

anyone have any idea how i can fix this ?

i just got the new official new rom update and the htc home froze my phone.every time i soft reset it it stays frozen.any ideas?
