Re: Giving Back - Here's How To Assign Ringtones
This is probably not the right thread to post this question but I'll ask anyway. Does anybody know a way to make ringtones work for text messages too? Meaning, if I have a specific song play for a specific person that song will play whether they call OR text me.

That I know but i'm talking about the ability to have say 5 different tones for 5 different people. Currently, I can set a different ringtone for each person in my contacts but I can only set ONE tone for a text message notification. I want to be able to get a text from a person and know who it came from without looking at the phone. Pretty lazy of me I know but other phones I had had that capability.

I'll also put my bid & support in here for Audicity. Yes, MP3 trimmer, Audio manager and others, already allow you to do this on the phone... sometimes that's not always a virtue. Having a larger screen to see the graphs is often helpful. And unlike the phone apps, Audacity (and most other PC audio editors) will allow you to taper the ends of your sound effect, ie: fade-in, fade-out. Makes for cleaner ringtones.

I don't think you can set ringtones at all - its completely Random. I know he was working on a new version of Call Surprise that was going to allow for additional functionality, but I haven't seen anything yet.
Purely random regardless who calls. |

Re: Giving Back - Here's How To Assign Ringtones
I'm using the touch and I can't set an MP3 as a ringtone. In phone settings, it will list an MP3, but then when I hit 'ok' to close out of the settings, instead of closing out, the ringer choice will revert to the first non-mp3 file in the 'My Ringtones' directory.
I've tried using AudioManager as well to set an MP3 but it has no effect. I'm using the new (as of summer 0 ![]() What am I missing? |

I like using a program called Wavepad it edits your songs trims amplifies everything its really awesome to get clear loud ringtones to the part of the song or whatever that you like.
