Never tried it, but I think if you just drop your custom sounds into the windows folder you can pick them up on your options for alerts. Don't quote me on that, but give it a try with a file or two. You may have to soft reset before you see them. If it doesn't work, no harm done.

I am 95% sure that message tones require .WAV
I have all of my message alerts/tones in my "My Documents" folder. Its messy, but it works... But this "place it into the windows folder" method is an interesting idea, I will try that with my Mp3's sometime. If I am correct, and the case is that you must have WAV, then I would suggest using a audio converter (I use Audacity, it's free) and just convert from MP3 to WAV. Also: WAV files are waaay larger than MP3's. |
