Type Ahead in Messaging

Evening all,

When using my keyboard to type a message, whether it be an email or text message, it seems the system is trying to predict what I want to type. So I get a word in very little letters, and my only way to get rid of it is to hit the delete key, which in turn allows what I started to type to come through. I remember seeing a few messages about this but for the life of me could not find them.

Is there anyway to get rid of this predictive situation?
