Noob needs help

OK im new to these forums, ust been lookin around today in fact. Ive learned quite a bit already but im left with a few questions to start.

OK my phone is a Verizon xv6800

Ive read in a few places that people dont like the verizon version of this phone? Anyone able to explain?

Next i use Chaperone for my daughter (shes 8, and no, its not to spy, its security for her safety). My problem is i can not bring up the page at verizon that alows me to see the tracking map using IE. Using Opera i can bring up the page, but the map wont render. Anyone have a suggestion other than linking to my PC to check it that way (i use logmein to remote control my PC).

Alright now that thats out of the way, ive been reading on upgrading the ROM. Does not look all that tough but i cant find a thread that explains near as well how to reset it to the factory rom and relock it. Ive foud a TON of threads to do this for the Mogul (sprints version from what i can tell), just not the version i have.

Also do the OEM apps require serial numbers? Im NOT asking for such, But for example, my phone has the Office Mobile Suite on it. How do i get my serial numbers from them to add them to the new rom?

Lastly if i build a rom is thee a way to share it? If anyone who is experienced is willing id like to be able to send it to someone who can make sure im not screwing anything up.

Im on sprint so i dunno about the verizon web tracking page, but as far as needing serial numbers for the oem app you do not. I believe there is a way to extract the .nbh file from the kitchen so you can share the rom, not 100% though.

No big deal. I tend to be decently computer savy and these are nothing more than very basic comps...

Most of this i can live without, or find with many hours of trouble, however i would still very much appreciate help nailing down a good instructional on how to revert to factory rom/settings for the Verizon 6800 so i have a safety net if i screw up. Thanks again.

In all my searches for Stock Roms i couldnt find a good resource for this. But just now, after reading your post, i decide to do a search for "XV6800 stock radio". I did this because well, the link you gave didnt include the rom lol.

the xv6800 is NOT Chaperone parent compatible.. i believe thats why you can't get to the Chaperone site to track your childs device........
