red means its a weter damaged phone white means that its a referbed phone so wait a bit and then take it back and said that you tried to update the phone and it got messed up and then they will give u a new 1

That's an old Electronic Tech's trick, 99% of the time it works. Water doesn't damage electronics so much as the electronic shorts it create across circuits. Dry it out completley and you may be surprised to find it working again, or at least enough to trade in for a new one.

Update on this...

I did a dirty trick. Pealed off the water detection piece, bleached it, and glued it back on.

Got myself a new phone.

It was too easy.

I feel dirty.

Yes, that would be the wetness sensor.

When it turns pink, green, blue, or whatever colour it turns on your phone, they know that it has been wet.

They're not going to take apart your phone to see the motherboard in it.

If they see the outside is faulty, there is no reason to open the inside.

Not to mention the employees know about as much of the inner workings of the phone as you do.

Well, at least you actually feel guilty about it and are considering letting them charge you for the replacement. There are, sadly, many on here that would feel perfectly justified in doing the same thing you did.

What kind of glue you use because wont the wet glue turn it red?
