Can we make a shortcut to "email" and set it for the envelope button? instead of messages?

I would like to do this also. There has to be a way since the mail soft button for HTC Home plug in takes you directly to email. As long as you have only 1 email set up. This would be pointless for those who have multiple emails setup.
