Check your Start->Settings->System->Device Information

All this does is update the PRI to 2.03_003 - depending on what you had before this will make no difference, or a huge difference.

Also, if you've changed the registry to disable agps this cab doesn't re-enable it.

HKLM/Software/HTC/SUPL AGPS/
EnableAGPS 1
EnableGPSSmartMode 1
GPSMode 2 (or 4)
Prior to installing, I checked my PRI number. It was listed as 2.00_003. Now it says 2.03_003.

Noticed no difference.

My registry is set up exactly as you have (GPSMode on 2).

I'm thinking the "fix" came in around 2.00... I was way back at 1.4x and for me, it was a huge difference

When installing the new sprint beta rom I couldn't even connect to evdo. I'll stay away it and anything that has to do with it.

Agreed, all the people that already have good lock times seem to be either at 2.00 or 2.03

With 2.00_03, I couldn't even get an lock inside the building at work. Now I can. It takes 30 seconds, but that's better than no fix at all.

im in a building where i used to never get a gps sync, now im good, ill test it out on my way home tonite as for outside sync

Holy crap, before this, my GPS was spotty at best, lock times were 2-5 minutes, and that was if I got a lock at all, a good 50% of time it never got a lock. I ran the update, and from my office, where I never got a lock before, I was locked onto 11 sattelites in 15 seconds flat!! Amazing.

I went into my mobile regedit and i dont have the file SUPL AGPS/... My PRI is updated to 2.03_003. I have updated the PPST also. And i cant get a GPS lock, it keeps coming back "Sorry, could not get the GPS position" using Live search. I have the COM port set to 2 in both windows and Live search. Can someone help me please?

Didn't seem to improve my GPS performance at all in the central ohio area, no change in lock time or # of sats. It seems to have affected my EVDO rates though, so I'm going to search for a 2.00_003 cab and revert back.

it needs to be set to 4, the default...

This didn't do anything for my Mogul (must have already had a 2+ PRI), but I updated my wife's Touch last night and I saw a huge improvement. Her previous PRI was 1.3 (or something similar, definetly below 2). I just have to say WOW!! This is THE fix for the slow/inconsistent locks if you are on Sprint. Nice find!!

I set it to port 4 and still have the same problem.... I tried for about 10 min. Any other suggestions?

hey I followed all the instruction that you posted on installing the rom but after went to /windows and tried to run ppst.exe but nothing happens. There are no prompts and the only thing that happens is that it just killed my service, leaving me with zero bars and no internet. I waited for like 3 mins and there is still no prompts for me to follow. Please help

I had a simmilar experience, I just gave up. My GPS is fast enough for me already. Soft reset will bring your service back.

Hey I extracted this from the Sprint Vogue ROM "RUU_PPST_Vogue_SPRINT_WWE_3.03.651.2_Radio_3.42.3 0_AM_NV_2.04_Ship"

Dunno if this one is diff or better.

I know it works great on my vogue.

I have uploaded the file for everyone... Use at own risk.

ok I know this may sound dumb...I'm running the "new" Sprint ROM, and was just curious where you all are getting your "satellites locked" and "satellites viewed" numbers from, is this a 3rd party app or am I just not navigating to the right portion of my phone to see these items.

install google maps or something that will read from your gps - the only sprint app that will work is telenav and it costs $10/mo....

I had major problems with 2.04 not working properly and have downgraded my phone to 2.03.... I had originally updated this thread to include 2.04 but have since downgraded it to 2.03 after I saw what it did to my GPS (it seemed like it was not functioning properly ~50% of the time - after using it for a couple of weeks - I have downgraded to 2.03 and no longer see the problems...).
