Re: Install Sprint Rom on Altel phone
Ok as of yet,,, Sprint has not bit into the open network bid that other carriers are stepping up to..
Meaning that Sprint only activates phones that they own or have owned,,, Lets say it like this,, sprint wants to buy phones for its stores,, it calls a company like brightpoint,, which is a major dealer that only deals with wireless carriers,, sprint nationwide may purchase a few million phones... every esn from everyone of them phones is stored in sprints computer.. you go to a pawn shop and find an alltel phone that you would like to swap over to your sprint phone number,,, sprint looks the esn up in their system,, and it doesnt show to be in there,,, sprint says hell no... aint gonna happen... and there is nothing legal wise you can do about it,,, but verizon wireless and alltel have surcome to the open network hoopla... meaning that they are allowing foreign esns to be activated on their network,, and sprint should prolly follow suit directly.... so hang loose
