Crap Battery?

So I've had my Mogul for 4 days now and one thing I've already noticed is that my battery dies extremely quickly. If I'm up by 9 AM its usually dead by 10 PM (11 hours). Is this normal? Also, when the battery is dead and I plug it into the charger, I still can't talk on it... As in the charger is not enough to power the phone while talking. Do I just have a bad battery?

Re: Crap Battery?

Depends on your use of the phone and what you do all day.

Charger will probably charge a little while your on the phone if it is the stock charger.

Re: Crap Battery?

Tower coverage can dramatically affect battery life. If you don't get a strong signal the device will retrain and reconnect often sucking the battery. If you're in the back of a brick building or in the basement, it can cause your Mogul to die in 6 hours.

See if you get better battery life on days you don't go to work.

I'm definitely in a poor signal area. Although I'll be moving out of it in about 3 months so that is good. Maybe I'll just get with the extended battery in the mean time?

Re: Crap Battery?

The battery life of this device is definitely crappy, but the charger (stock home charger) should charge your phone while you're on it. If you're using an aftermarket charger/plugging it into a usb port on a computer, these may charge far slower (not enough power output) and it may not be enough to power you talking.

If you want better battery life, turn off bluetooth, beam, and disable/lower your email checking frequency, as these suck up battery life...

I will second the recommendation to turn off or lower frequency of checking email.

Also more important than Bluetooth (in terms of power consumption) make sure Wifi is OFF. BT in standby mode actually doesn't draw alot of power.

Re: Crap Battery?

to get the most out of your mogul battery do this turn off the phone by placing it into flight mode when not in use by pressing the end ket till it goes into flight mode. then i would also say to just remove the battery when done with a call and when u want to make a call just place battery back into device and then make call. when done with call remove battery again... this will save you
