Price of oil doesn't go down its more like this:

OIL increases by 20%

government lowers the price of OIL by 1% the next day

Now price of OIL went down right? that is true in a way..but in reality it still just went up!

It's $4.25 in Redlands, CA (at least at a few gas stations there). $4.19 by my house. Either way, ouch.

You make some valid points, but you need to consider a few things:

1. Service can improve. Most of the complaints you had about cricket have been resolved. They now have EVDO, Nationwide roaming (you have to subscribe), text to email, etc.

2. You CAN get through to a person on the phone, you just have to know how to do it.. In order to get a person, you have to get in through the tech support options on the automated system.

3. Off-shore customer service? Welcome to today's America..

However, ultimately you make some pretty good points. Cricket does come up short if you want a full service provider.. Proxied internet access, no streaming TV or music, etc. prevents them from being able to REALLY knock any wind out of the big boys... It's also ridiculous that you have to "know the system" in order to get to talk to a person, but that's also true of sprint and any of the big boys..

If you want good customer service, you have to know how to get it from that company.. With sprint, you can talk to a person all day long, but not accompish anything... unless you get transferred to retentions or executive services. How is that really any different than the issues with cricket? I can tell you right now, in 3 months with sprint, I've spent more time with their CS than I did with cricket in the 3 years previous... and that's including the hour long waits at the store for anything (FWIW, Sprint's waits at the store are just as bad as cricket's, and their reps are every bit as stupid.)

I left cricket about 3 months ago for sprint's everything plan, even though my bill is $35/mo more... I still battle every day whether it was a good call or not, but I don't regret it so far. Sprint IS better than cricket.. but how much better is debatable.

No kidding... I remember in the fall of 06, gas dropped down to about $2/gallon and everyone started thinking it was cheap again... meanwhile, I'm thinking "you know, less than 6 years ago I paid $.87/gallon".

Oil prices blame goes to the environmental groups, for years they have sided with Jimmy Carter in feeling that the USA should be paying what Europe is paying in gas prices. Also, they stand in the way of the oil companies drilling in the USA for our own oil. Don't forget the morons who think the war is for oil, at over $4 a gallon, I think the war should be for oil. Take the land, make it ours and lower our gas prices.
