3. You can turn off the radio and leave WiFi on as well as BT. I use PocketAlarm and put it into Sleep Mode but turn on BT as needed. With this set up I only lost 10% battery power while away from a plug for two days with all radios shut down.
4. Nonetheless, shame this is not quadband. I have a cheap GPS phone here and use it with insertable cards.
5. Of course, you could get an iPhone..... but they get you $1 a minute. Better to buy a new phone. If you are in France you can get rates of about .3-.4 Euro/min.

Cheers
Thanks for the great info. I just tried everything out and it works fine on my wifi at home. Should i expect similar results in europe if the connection is good? And i just purchased the 2.99 unlimited calling to US landlines/mobile phones. That should work if im in europe calling via wifi to the US? I dont plan on calling europe, just from there to here.

And i might be doing something wrong but i cant turn the phone in airplane mode and use wifi! Isnt airplane mode so that nothing goes in or out of the phone? I can turn of the "Data connection" and use wifi, but i cant turn off the phone icon thing in the comm manager and use wifi. Thanksss everyone!

Re: Going to Europe... few questions!

I just put my phone in "flight mode" and I was still able to use WiFi.

Make sure your WiFi switch is turned on (located on the left side of the phone - the side the scroll wheel is on)

Re: Going to Europe... few questions!

Airplane mode is having no connections on. So WiFi won't work. However, all you need to do is flip the wifi switch and then click the phone icon in the comm manager.

Re: Going to Europe... few questions!

Yes, you can go through the phone manager. I'll try the Skype off my phone later today in the local Cafe that has fast wireless. I generally use my computer as the connection is better than via the phone which is always a bit choppy using Skype... even in the USA... which I think probably has to do with the lower speed of many wireless connections, bad speaker/mike and various other phone deamons.

These links will show you what coverage/price/frequencies that other countries have.

If you have Sprint, There is not a international travel package unless you have a Blackberry8830 or Samsung Ace or go to Mexico or Canada, but here are the rates if you have coverage
