Sprint PCS directory assistance?

Situation:

I flashed the 3.49 Sprint ROM then loaded No2chem 5067 on top of that.

I could receive calls but could not make them. I got the message " Sprint pcs directory assistance is not available at this time"

So i panicked and flashed the alltel 3.37 ROM. now i cant make or receive calls.

If someone could point me in the direction of a solution I would be forever grateful.

Is it that no one knows of an answer? or is this a ridiculously simple question so everyone is ignoring me? I could have sworn I read something about this a while ago but I can't find it for the life of me

so as if to slap me in the face, I can receive sms messages. This would lead me to believe i need to reflash the radio to alltel but i have flashed that rom already in an effort to fix the problem.

did you get your msl and msid and mdn. your mdn is your phone number and your msid is typically the same thing. it might have been changed when your switched from the stock bootloader to the leaked rom.

I was also suspicious of the SID so i updated my .prl with the latest alltel smartphone .prl and I called alltel "advanced" tech support and they checked my numbers and they said everything checked out.

yea that also be your problem i dont know if they are different go here and try playing with the prls and see which one works best for you. keep posting here if one of these do not fix the problem and if i do not get back to it in a timely manner pm that will definitely get my attention.

ok i tried 4 different prls and the message has not changed.

40036 however does move my data connection from 1xrtt to Evdo so if i ever get the phone fixed theres that bright spot.

RESOLUTION!!!!

I put in a trouble ticket with alltel tech support yesterday and today they called me to let me know that the area i'm in I use sprint towers and they have started something with their authentication process in the area to prevent cloning of phones. So basically the alltel rep just called the authentication group and had them force me in. Imagine my surprise when i was pouring over SID, NID, MNC, MCC codes and i receive an incoming phone call. Thank goodness im back in the 21st century with communication.
