Re: PPC 6800 Password Protects itself randomly

Same problem on mine as well, every time this happens I lose my active sync settings on top of it. Has anyone else noticed this?

At one point I was running the no2chem 5066 rom, and switched back to the stock rom because I thought the rom was causing this to happen. I was more than annoyed today what it happened again using the stock rom. I posted a question in the no2chem post, and no one else seems to have had the same problem. I am more than puzzled.

The only programs I have running would be: HTC Home and S2U.

I'm having this same problem. I have the 3.35 rom with HTC customizer. Has to be related to those 2 things, right?

Re: PPC 6800 Password Protects itself randomly

Seems to only happen when the phone is charging.

Any word on what could be happening?

Re: PPC 6800 Password Protects itself randomly

Anyone else have any insight into this problem? What I cant seem to figure out is what other programs would auto password protect, if we could pin that down I think we'd find the issue. Either way, this happened to me twice over the weekend, and i'm about to go out of my mind.

Re: PPC 6800 Password Protects itself randomly

If you connect to an exchange server, the system administrator can impose a password requirement on your device for security reasons. This happened to me with my old job. Exchange Server required a password entry on my device for every hour that it was idle, and it did not allow me to disable it, even after I removed the connection to the server. I had to do a hard reset to clear it up, and haven't used an exchange server since.

Re: PPC 6800 Password Protects itself randomly

I have the same problem. Mine locks randomly, I have no pasword. My screen goes to half light and the system slows just before lock. I have the 3.35 ROM and 3.37.2 Radio and HTC Home. I've just resigned to rebooting several times a day. It is a pain. I would love a fix.

Re: PPC 6800 Password Protects itself randomly

I too had issue. I posted a week or so ago and only had two
posted responses. Now a lot people are having issue. Mine would lock after removing from charger. Then would just lock on wake up. I called HTC and they said they were unaware of issue but also told tell me that since I had 3rd party software they could not help?? Appeared after new Alltel rom update from HTC. Not sure if it was a weatherpanel related issue or HTC or?? I was able at first to cancel password request, but was then not able to unlock without reboot. Frustrated, I went ahead and restored completely with rom update then additional software and have never had password issue again. I am not using cube anymore, or weatherpanel, touchflo ect. I am using ultimate launcher with related cabs. Just my 2cents.
