Mogul vibrate that does not stop!?

Hi all:

I did a search to see whether this has happened to anyone else and so far came up dry.

Has anyone else ever had a Mogul set on vibrate that just won't stop?

I was in court on Friday for a settlement conference (I'm a lawyer) and had my phone set on vibrate. A call came in and I hit ignore thinking that it would put the call into voicemail and stop the vibration. Not only did it not stop - it kept going on long after the call went to voicemail. I wanted to try to take the battery out to stop it that way, but I have a Seidio cover on it and couldn't get it off. I couldn't get it to just turn off. Finally, I snuck it into my bag, but you could still hear a low humming. After about 10 minutes I was able to get out and shut the phone down.

Anyone else have a similar experience (hopefully not in a courtroom)

Thanks,
Matt

You should have shoved it into your front pants pocket, kidding. Did a soft rest get rid of the problem? I am assuming you tired that already. You may want to check to see how often you set your reminders when you miss or dismiss a phone call. Just some thoughts.

Although I can't offer any solution or insight to your problem, I too have had ONE instance where it was set to vibrate and wouldn't stop after going off. Nothing a soft reset didn't resolve though.

Re: Mogul vibrate that does not stop!?

ive had this issue when i installed a app/reghack that disables the flashing led 'signal' light
the only app that has not resulted in this vibration issue is nueled as it works differently i am guessing

I had this happen to me

I was driving along using Sprint Navigation, I had an alarm set for a certain time, the alarm went off and I dismissed it. The vibration kept going, although the phone functioned fine. I performed a soft reset as it was easier to do that than to get the battery out (I have the same phone cover) No new software or registry changes prompted this either, totally out of the blue.

Re: Mogul vibrate that does not stop!?

I have this happen sometimes when I get a new email. I have the make sound and vibrate option checked and after the sound goes off, it would vibrate until I did a soft reset.

Re: Mogul vibrate that does not stop!?

Thanks for the thoughts - When I was able to leave the room on a break, I took the battery out and have soft reset since that time. I didn't try to soft reset while I was in there because I didn't want to draw any more attention than I thought was being drawn to the buzzing already occurring.

I'll have to test it out the next time I get a call.

I haven't done any reg hacks, though I have Quick Menu, Ultimate Launcher and HTC Home Customizer - I can't imagine any of those progs being the culprit.

Thanks again,
MK

Re: Mogul vibrate that does not stop!?

Not saying that this is the issue, but I seen random vibration/constant vibration happen as a result of water damage even days after the phone had gotten wet.
