Cant change backlight and keylock setttings

For some reason it is not letting me adjust the backlight settings at all. Both sliders are on the power save side. When I tap in the area of the slider it acknowledges it by changing color but it wont move.
And my keylock settings are the same way. The box next to do not lock is selected already. Then if I check the lock all keys when device is off box it shows in both places. Then when I exit to save nothing saves and only the do not lock buttons box is checked.


What gives. I had sprint on the phone today and they had no idea and recommended for me to replace it.

Now just to clarify its supposed to be a brand spanking new mogul. Took it out of the box last tuesday BRAND NEW. It already came loaded with the latest 3.35 rom which kinda struck me as funny. Has sprint started loading the new rom on phones or is this a refurb.

Anyway I ran the factory rom for 2 days and the settings where a problem then. Then I cooked the no2chem 5060 rom from the kitchen still with the same problem.
Anybody got any ideas.

I prefer not to send it back to sprint but I will if I have to I have insurance and its only a week old. And I already know not to bring in the phone with a custom rom on it. Did it plenty of times with my apache.

Nobody has ever had this happen to them.

Honestly this is weird as hell. I dont understand how Im not able to change them.
