Won't Stay Asleep!!

I dont know why, but my phone keeps waking up from sleep mode. Every time it wakes up i think someone's bout to text me or there's an incoming call but nothing happens, no email, no sms or call. I was at work and i had to put it back to sleep atleast 30 times. it's draining my battery, does anyone know what the problem is??

Yes, its a common problem on Windows Mobile phones using CDMA networks (I never noticed this on any of my GSM WinMo phones).

It has to do with towers and roaming, and usually happens in a poor coverage area. When your phone is negotiating what network is better to connect to, switching in/out of roaming is for some reason triggered as an event.

Its generally regarded as a bug in the system, but my theory is that the OS considers switching into roaming an event much like receiving a text message or receiving an alarm, which wakes up the device.

As far as I know, no one has been able to prove exactly what causes it or how to prevent it from happening anymore, however there are some ways to keep it to a minimum.
For starters, make sure you have the latest PRL and Radio updates (I noticed it a lot more with the original 2.x rom that shipped with my phone than I do with the later updates), since that may prevent your phone from having to switch as often.
In real problem areas, you can also force your phone into Roam-Only. I do that in my office to keep it off.
If it really continues to bother you, you can always try a screen locker such as S2U.
