Re: GPS port other than COM 4?

well when i had Garmin mobile XT installed, it would work well with what it was calling Intermediate GPS driver. Tried to force it to port 4 and it wouldnt stick usually. ran great like that, but its probably a garmin thing.

Mine is on COM5. Seems to work exactly the same. There's certainly no reason to expect the choice of COM port to make any difference in the reception.

Re: GPS port other than COM 4?

It shouldn't make any difference what port its on, as long as nothing is using that port already (wmwifirouter as someone else already stated is an example)

You can try different ports if you wish, it doesn't damage anything. Just make sure to change it back if it doesn't work.

Talking Re: GPS port other than COM 4?

Ok I jus tried every com port even the GPD ports (didnt know they worked). What I got from it was that switching com ports definately will change how well your device recieves, but its not that big of a difference. So basically if youre not getting a good lock try a different com port(one of them may work better for you). But if your getting a good lock i wouldnt bother(unless your bored). I happened to find a port that i think im stickin with(GPD6). But it definately makes a difference for me and maybe you to.
