i have quite a few programs and have only seen that memory error once the entire time i have owned my mogul(it was clearly my fault for not shuttin prog. down).
ifonz youtubeplay nue led touchflo touchfloconfig pie 6.1 flashvideobundle tcpmp no2chem's battery driver pocketmax spacer(not used) quick menu dopewars phm regedit pocketcm keyboard(many skins/dictionaries) S2P codyppc camera marshall dialpad skin codyppc perfomance booster live search capsure(screen capture) nilisco flashlight waku task manager google maps gps today netfront broswer shaps advanced config codyppc threaded sms pocket digital clock marshall wait cursor audible air pim backup i have about 15 megs of ram after a week with no soft reset.and i have 85.07 meg free of memory all my apps are installed to device. ill post back with how much after soft reset....i get 20.67

all of these are in my main memory!
PHM Registry editor, hudson mobile phone dashboard, google maps, skunkworks flash video bundle, ae software ae button plus, spb time, spb pocket plus, spb phone suite, spb mobile shell, spb backup (doesn't work with this rom anymore), dinarsoft memaid, webis flexmail 2007, tcpmp, burr oad software conversions in hand, nilisco flashlight app, hermledd & icnot (depreciated because of nueLED), GetSPC (for MSL#), nueLED, pocket nester for NES. and i pretty much run most of those as boot!

I run -
Photo Contacts pro4 Resco Explorer/w registry add in Resco Pcture viewer MemMaid Spb Mobile shell pocket MSN Spb Pocket Plus Google Maps Slide 2 View Pocket CM TCPMP - with all the plugins Handango Inhand sliding sounds pack touchpal I thought I had a lot of programs but I guess not really... on a soft reset I have 19.5 megs of program memory avail and 104.56 available storage space...I'm using dcd's 3.0.4 ROM...very clean and I try to minimize the amout of programs that are running on the Today screen, with Spb Pocket plus I can place icons to all my favorite programs for easy access...I also found that newer versions of some program don't hog as much ram as their predecessors...
