It does seem counterintuitive, doesn't it? The problem seems to have to do with the microphone signal - the input, not the output. The new firmware changed the way the Mogul responds to what it sees there. Keep in mind that the Mogul only sends audio to the output if it senses that there is something connected there to receive it. Otherwise, the audio goes to the internal speaker. So something changed in the logic that triggers the audio port to become enabled. And certain adapters still work fine, while others no longer work at all.

One person figured out that if you can disconnect pin "1" on the problem adapters, they begin to work. So it appears to have to do with that signal. And that's the one that carries the microphone input from a wired headset. Unfortunately, disconnecting that pin can be easier said than done.

Post Reply to my email.. Oh well.

Hi Sir,

We have contacted the manufacturer and they can not figure out why this is the case. We have removed Mogul as the compatible device from our product description.

At this time, we don't know if the manufacturer can come up with the new version.

Regards,

Support Team,

Hi I bought one of these and it doesn not work with the new EVDO A / GPS enabled Sprint HTC Titan 100 PPC-6800 Mogul phone any longer, it worked great prior to the updated ROM.

Would you have an updated or working version for this as a replacement?

Re: What audio adapter works with the new ROM?

Just thought I'd update... my eBay audio adapters came and they work fine with the new ROMs.
I paid $3.70 shipped for 2 from seller Televate on eBay. They are basic headphone-only stereo adapters.

I have this exact adapter, and it DOES infact work with the newest official ROM.

To make it work, you must first start the audio/video stream, then plug in the adapter, and then finally plug in the headset to the adapter. This always seems to work.

Re: What audio adapter works with the new ROM?

FWIW, here are the three I use in various situations. All work, as do the original two that came with my Mogul. I am using No2Chem's 5065.

Re: What audio adapter works with the new ROM?

i purchased the cable from radioshack and i can get stereo out just fine to car speakers.

But now how do i get to answer calls without having to disconnect everything and remove phone from cradle etc? or somehow get a mic attached to the mix?

Thanks in advance,

Seems like i've tried this before, but i'll give it a shot again! I've got the official 3.35 from Sprint and this exact plug from Semsons. Ughhh..

Welp, we'll see what happens!

Re: What audio adapter works with the new ROM?

I've had some problems with two different adapters. One from Ebay (no obvious identifier) and one from PPC Techs with built in microphone. With both adapters I used to be able to listen to MP3s and then when I would get a call it would send audio to my bluetooth headset. Now, with the 3.35 ROM, I can still listen to MP3s just fine but I have to manually disconnect the adapter from the phone to get the phone to send audio to my bluetooth headset when I receive a call. Can anyone, with certainty, say where they purchased adapters that can
1) charge the phone
2) provide a female 1/8in (3.5mm) audio port
3) enable bluetooth audio with phone calls (without having to disconnect the adapter)

Thanks,
Andrew
