VZW Changes plans - Unlimited Web/Email - $29.99 month

Yeah, I tried to switch yesterday and immediately lost access to wireless sync. When I called back, they said it was not for Exchange or WS users. That is still 44.99. All this is a drop in price for those that use internet email only on the device, provides through a cab, a prettier interface for doing it (which, by the way, does NOT function if you have the HIGHER PRICED plan????). Its junk for casual users to provide kind of a "Get It Now" experience on a WM device. They should drop the price on the sync type service to be more competitive.

I can tell you for a fact that I use to be on VzW for data.... switched to Sprint Sero because I was tired of old phones, outrageous prices, etc. Sprint data blows away VzW data speeds, and I'm in a major metropolitan area (NYC). Ever notice the commercials on TV where Sprint touts that there data downloads are faster than the competitors? It's true, and notice that VzW never disputes that.

I easily get T1-like speeds (>1Mbs) with Sprint and that was before EVDO Rev A.

One thing to note. If your "company" uses pop3 email, its still free. I havent really noticed a difference other than that yet. I also havent tried to use my phone as a wireless hotspot either...ill get there though.

I started a new company last week that had verizon discounts. When I called to ask about discounts on the data plan, verizon informed me of the $29.99 offer, which I had not heard of yet. So I signed up for it, and then after he signed me up he saw I was able to get 12% off that through my company so I pay around $26 a month for the unlimited package. Much better than even considering $45 a month.
