mac.com email issues on mogul

Hey, I have changed my settings numerous times. Followed every step on numerous sites to get the settings right. But my mac.com email account can download my messages, but it cant send emails out through my phone. I can send and receive from my AOL on my phone, ya I know AOL sucks,lol. My mac account is the only problem.
Anyone have this issue or know of way to resolve it?

the main problem with sending email from a wm device is that most email providers don't use the standard port for the SMTP service. usually to cut down on spammers and bots. since WM does not have a plase to put the port you have to append it to the host address of the smtp server with a colon. i.e. smtp.mac.com:587

I tried using the smtp.mac.com:587 but it still says
The message could not be sent. check that your account information is correct.

Instead of login in as username@mac.com try just the username.
