wmwifirouter help

I thought I've seen the answer to this, but I just can't find it again (manysearches):

wmwifirouter is working well on my two laptops. I installed a wireless card in our desktop. It's connecting to it, but when I open iexplorer it's not opening the internet. Is there a setting related to ad hoc networks or peer-to-peer relationships that will allow it to work?
