Telenav (ROM bundled) v. Garmin XT

Did a search, if I missed and this is a duplicate post, sorry all...

I'm looking for a side by side review of the latested ROM bundled TeleNav v. Garmin's Mobile XT software and associated memory card. Aside from the fact that one must have coverage for TeleNav to work:
- Does the Garmin software add features and functionality for the $99.00 that TeleNav doesn't have?
- Can you track your route and set waypoints?
- etc....

Thanks,
Dave

Re: Telenav (ROM bundled) v. Garmin XT

I've not used Telenav, but I understand it requires an active internet connection because it downloads the maps on the fly. Garmin contains all the maps on the card already and can work with the phone off.

With Garmin you can connect to your computer and download custom POIs (points of interest) on the internet. With a IE plugin or Firefox extension they can be sent directly to your device on the fly. You can also create routes and POIs on your own in MapSource. If you have friends with Garmin XT you can find each other with Peer Points, a system that sends your location in a text message and can read the same text messages from others to create points on the map. Garmin also has a Trip Computer as well as Traffic, Weather, Gas Prices, and Hotel Rates.
