Angry Mogul won't charge - Manufacturer's warranty replacement??

Ok. first of all I am a Sprint SERO customer since August 07 and that is the same time when I purchased my Mogul. Since then I've had many problems with this thing I dont know what to do. This time it's a major problem.....I can't charge the damn thing. I'e tried multiple chargers and as you can tell I'm pretty pissed off. When I take a look inside of the charging port I see that it may be missing one of those tiny gold pins..... What do you guys think? If I take it to a repair center would I be able to get a new one no questions asked??? and if so how long do u think it will take to get a new one?? There is quite a bit of cosmetic damage to the phone and I know this time it is not my fault. Please help. Thanks.

If you have insurance, they will replace it with a refurbished one at no cost to you, as long as they have some in stock. If you do not have insurance, you'll have to go through the manufacturer's warranty.

Yes, that's what you need. Glad to hear you have the insurance....never quite understood why people don't want to pay a few dollars a month to insure a $500 phone. Hope they have some in stock for you because they had to pull them for a while due to the ROM update.

Why? Because some people do the math and conclude its not worth the money. Within the first few months, if you need to replace your phone, its worth it to have had insurance. But after a while, with the amount of value that the phone drops plus the amount you have paid and continue to pay, not everyone sees this is a no-brainer.
I'm not saying that you should or shouldn't have insurance, I know a lot of people do have it and I'm not knocking it.
Personally, I calculated that I will have spent as much in insurance after my 2 year contract to have bought a second phone at the projected price (you can already buy them on ebay for $250 if you're patient- just got one for a coworker. In another 1.5 years, it will probably be ~200 if not less. Do the math and see how much you'll have spent yourself).

I just don't like spending what will ultimately be the value of my phone at the end of this ordeal "just in case".

But anyway, I'm just pointing it out since you said you don't understand why someone would do that.

BTW, what's so terrible about following through with the manufacturer's warranty?

Oh, and TEP can be added later too if/when u need it. All you need to do is temporarily swap phones, and they count it as a new handset, able to have TEP added. Good to know...

My friend had a problem similar to mine and he took it to a sprint authorized dealer which is also a repair center who would not give him one of THEIR NEW moguls. He had to wait a few days for his REFURBISHED mogul which looked good as new. Anyone with a similar situation be sure to take out your stylus and SD card. When my friend went to pick up his refurbished one it had neither....so be careful.

Everything you said was pretty obvious.....& the reason I pay for TEP is for the convenience of being able to go to a sprint store for a replacement instead of having to deal with the manfacturers who will make up anything to **** you. And I'm not waiting 6-8 weeks for a new phone. I think that is bull****.

Just got a new Mogul today fresh from the box, all accessories, everything in plastic. Damn that $7 was worth it.

Re: Mogul won't charge - Manufacturer's warranty replacement??

Did they charge you a $50 deductible? My Mogul died and so far it seems my options are going through the Sprint location for $55 or sending it at my own expense to HTC (UTCStarcom) on Long Island.

Re: Mogul won't charge - Manufacturer's warranty replacement??

My friend just had to wait 5 weeks for a new Mogul going the warranty route. My fiance dropped my Mogul down the stairs a month ago. I brought the pieces to a Sprint store that day and walked out with a brand new Mogul fresh out of the box. It's worth the $7 to me..

I wasn't charged anything either. I think it's hit or miss on that one...I got lucky.
