Re: ?change phones carrier id in the low level system?

Every 6700 ive had with stock vzw and another carrier cooked to vzw and my current xv6800 stock and with dcd's vzw 3.04 rom lets me do a ##eri talk to manually load an eri must be lacking on alltel. Maybe try to run this cab from vzw ext rom to get the ##eri ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Titan/Users/ve....9ExtRomFiles/. Get the vzw shortcodes cab then uninstall/hard reset after you are done this is assuming alltel uses an eri/prl combo.

Re: ?change phones carrier id in the low level system?

cool that may work.. at this point i am not sure if they use eri. or if that is even what it is.. it may be a numerical branding done in the non-volitle memory or something... but ill keep on chugging..
i will try this though.. thanks

Re: ?change phones carrier id in the low level system?

Bitpim a regular non ppc alltel phone and see if there is an eri folder in efs with any contents. Also with vzw #help (#4357) talk will display your eri, prl etc.

Re: ?change phones carrier id in the low level system?

ok i will in the morning.. i looked in the titan efs there is an eri folder but its either empty or just not accessable.. so if the verizon pst pound codes will work on this i may be able to slap an eri on that thing and see.. ill reply here tomorrow when i give it a try and let u know.. this may fix a lot of roaming issues for flashed titans if this works

Re: ?change phones carrier id in the low level system?

Flashing to the latest Alltel ROM, 3.35.671.9 and then doing a *228 and pressing 3 removed the roaming indicator on my phone.

However, it does not show the Alltel banner... the banner area is just blank on both the home screen and phone screen.

!!!UPDATE!!!

Yep me too,,, I had used mtty to change the phone cid to ALLTE001 and tried to flash the first alltel rom to the phone,, but it still roamed....

Now I went ahead and downloaded the latest rom that alltel put out and after doing an otap the phone is no longer roaming,,,,,

conclusion????

the first alltel rom may not have had what it took to sufficiantly overwrite the information,,, that was causing the phone to still think it was qwest...

but with the new alltel rom having a new radio/platform im sure that that is the reason that it would overwrite pretty much everything,,,,

I am guessing that the custom roms that have been cooked out there, they are set with carrier settings, but they are lacking one vital piece of information that needs to be flashed into the phone... if we can figure out what it is.. then were golden...

Gents:

Is there a VZW equivalent of *2283? My 6800 has the solid roaming indicator and it says Preferred System across it. *2281 fails but *2282 loads and reboots to no avail. VZW tech support are sending me a new phone, but I still think I can get this fixed. I did load the 3.49 Sprint ROM and let the customizations go through, so that is why this is happening. I have since flashed back to the 5067 kitchen with VZW.

Re: ?change phones carrier id in the low level system?

i know my phone is different as i have the sprint intrepid with wm 6.5, but can anyone tell me how to force it to roam since the roam only option is gone or tell me how to make it primarily alltel network and roam others if needed?
