Re: Evdo droping to 1x

It switches to 1x on Sprint DCD 3.0.1 allot also. I think I saw a phone setting that forced it to only use EVDO on one of the previous ROMs that I have used but I don't see that option on this ROM.

Re: Evdo droping to 1x

I had this issue in the dc area for about 2 days back in february... then phone wentv back to normal evdo connectivity. haven't had any problems since...

whatever it is you can be fairly sure that it's a network issue and not just your phone...

my suggestion is just to wait it out a few days.

Re: Evdo droping to 1x

Here's what helped me. This drove me crazy until I figured out what I needed to do. It seems that sometimes the new ROM or Radio or something causes security settings to change. Go to EPST, edit, and check under the security settings. For Alltel, the 2nd line down, HDR AN AUTH Password, should read your hex esn, NOT "alltel". Change it to your 8 digit hex esn, reboot, and, at least for me, it made all the difference.

Re: Evdo droping to 1x

I changed my phone settings under roaming options to "Sprint only." Since making the change...I haven't been dropping to 1X.

here is something weird:

I go into epst, edit, security and look at HDR auth..... and my ESN(hex) is in there; I didn't have to change a thing. At that point i figured maybe it was some other prob, but now it is connecting as EVDO.

Oh well.
