Re: Trouble with Wifi on PPC Mogul 6800

We started a thread on this a while back in the Titan forum, many chimed in on this very topic. The most defining point that came out of that thread was that this device with the built in Wifi switch was very fragile. Some one actually took their device apart and found that the saudering was very poor and had came a loose. The guy was actually mechanically inclined enough to repair his own Wifi, but the key element you describe is that the device no longer connects to anything. If the device has been dropped or exposed to severe shock this very well seems to be your issue. The device probably needs to be replaced.

I think the mac address is also visible in QPST. Trying looking there.

Re: Trouble with Wifi on PPC Mogul 6800

thanks for all your responses.

things I have tried:

I finally got my device flashed using the SD card, (my SD card port must be dirty but after sliding the card in and out rapidly ten or fifteen times, the card was recognized.) Now my MAC address is back (hoorah).
I have the latest radio rom from verizon, but honestly, I think the old Alltel rom worked better.

Anybody know what rom is best for good WIFI ?

Indeed, I found the switch/button to turn on/off wifi was faulty, and not on when it said it was on.
once I got it to be "on" my wifi would start up.

I still get no hits for signal strength.

willl try anything to get it working.
