Re: WMWIFIROUTER V1.00 Released

I like the WMWifiRouter app - but it's not worth more than $10 to me. Especially when there is a free alternative and cracked copies of PDAnet on most torrent sites. From looking at the free app over on XDA - it's a much more capable app, and I suppose there should be no surprise there(nod to XDA), but when WMWifiRouter is charging for a less enabled app - it's not likely many people are going to bother paying. While some people might actually need to provide access to multiple machines, I think most of us are just interested in using our phones as an internet connection when nothing else is available. To that end, I think using pdanet via bluetooth is an acceptable solution.

Re: WMWIFIROUTER V1.00 Released

I can understand the points made by some of you who don't want to pay for the retail version, but I hope you at least send the developer some sort of donation.

If not, you're nothing but a leech.

Diss someone who creates something awesome for your device enough, and they'll take their ball and leave... Just ask a certain someone who's revered as a God at XDA and is somewhat of a pariah here...

Just like we're "leeching" the internet from certain carrier branded phones by not paying their tethering charge? What are you trying to say?

Also how does the dcd thing have anything to do with supporting shareware?

The point I was making is that if you screw the software developers over, they're going to stop working with you... We're all pretty lucky that DCD didn't just disappear into the sunset and stop contributing tothe community in general..

To put it simply, these guys invested a lot of work in their product, and it's flagrantly disrespectful to them to have a bunch of guys talk about how worthless the software is, but openly state that they'll pirate it. If you don't want to buy the retail version.. fine.. but you ought to send the developer something if you intend to keep using the trial version.

I see a big difference between leeching internet from your carrier (especially since you can use your net the same way on the phone as you do on your PC), and screwing over the developers who help advance technology.
