Pairing Qwest Mogul w/ Ford Sync

I've never been able to pair my Qwest Mogul with my computer through Bluetooth. It didn't bother me too much because I can always plug it in.

Now I have a Ford Edge with Sync ... and it won't pair!

I took it to the dealer to see if I'm just dumb. They couldn't do it either, but they got 2 other phones (Nokias) to pair. I even paired my husband's Qwest Fusion (5800 smartphone) to it easily.

I called Qwest and they first made me hard reset ... sad. Then it still didn't work.

Has anyone else had a problem? Could I just have a bad one -- just the Bluetooth messed up and nothing else? I've had this phone for 8 months with no other problems.

Could it be a Qwest ROM problem?

Can anyone make me feel better about this? I need reassurance.

Re: Pairing Qwest Mogul w/ Ford Sync

This same problem is reported for many in dash radio's OEM and aftermarket.

There was a thread I was reading about.. Alpine Deck with bluetooth and it wouldn't connect to the Sony Erickson phones, but Nokia would work fine. Turned out... it wasn't a problem with the Sony phone... but the Alpine Deck. Chalk it up to what you want... Poor implementation of bluetooth or Favoritism for Nokia on Alpines behalf.

I can confirm that Pioneer Decks work fine.

As for a lot of OEM Bluetooth cars.. it's hit and miss. It's funny because Bluetooth is a Standard.. and if everyone followed the standard it should work. And if it's not following the standards it's not supposed to wear the Bluetooth badge.

Re: Pairing Qwest Mogul w/ Ford Sync

just an update ... Qwest sent me a NEW phone and I got it the next day! Not a refurb either! And now my bluetooth works, too. Yea for Sync and my Mogul.

If only I had GPS ... but Qwest is being good to me so I won't complain too much.
