Re: Sprite Terminator - GPS coordinates thru SMS, Wipe/Lock remotely!!!

Has anyone gotten the GPS to work without using a primer? I have to do the fast prime first for it to get me coordinates. Or else it says no SATS found... runnning the current rom... I saw someone said they found a work around for this but can find it anywhere. Read Sprite's website where they say use TomTom (or whatever app) but say you lose you phone and you dont have the luxory of starting that to get a reading through terminator?

Everytime I send an sms, it responds within 30 seconds with the correct gps coordinates. No priming required. Have been testing it for about a week now.

Lucky you. I have been trying to use this on my wife's and my Titan to no luck. Unless I "prime" it first, I get a message back sometimes hours later saying no Sat info. She is back to a stock Sprint Rom and I have a DCD Gps RoM and still no luck. We have both tried rebooting PPC's and then sending the commands and nothing. Now if we use Google Maps or something else, then it works. Now if we completely close Google Maps out and try it, doesn't work. Still not going to give up though, there must be a way as many others like yourself seem to have it working fine!

Re: Sprite Terminator - GPS coordinates thru SMS, Wipe/Lock remotely!!!

navizon keeps the gps going, it has an autostart, and it's own power management. it's free, and can make you some $ (if you want to have it tethered to a power source for wifi) but seriously, if you have the wifi off, you will only typical drain associated with the device not being in full standby and gps radio on.

also an interesting thing i've noticed is that sometimes if I have my wifi off and go into a bigbox store (depot/wallyworld) I have to reset to get gps lock again.....
BUT if I have my wifi ON (running navizon) and there are wifi signals (~45 AP's in the store i was in tonight.), I get my lock back when i leave.

Re: Sprite Terminator - GPS coordinates thru SMS, Wipe/Lock remotely!!!

Has anyone gotten Terminator to work on a xv6800? I installed it on mine, but can't get it to respond to a partnered device.

I'm using:
spritecmd mypassword query
spritecmd mypassword gps

When a send the command from a partnered device, I see my phone wake up, but the partner never gets a response.

I can log into the app on my phone, so I know the pw is ok. I've sent test messages to the partner devices, so I know they're ok. I've even used the 'test gps' function in Terminator, and that returns an accurate lat/long.

I'm on a xv6800, MR1, Skywing's GPS adapter.

Anyone have any idea why this isn't working?

Re: Sprite Terminator - GPS coordinates thru SMS, Wipe/Lock remotely!!!

Sprite terminator has been working ok with Sprint Mogul, stock 3.35 no primer needed and no gps application installed except for live search, google maps and mapquest navigator. In the past, I installed a gps app that messed up all my internal gps settings,no more.
