Car Mount W/ Phone in Case?

Will this car mount:

http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...US253%26sa%3DN

Work with the Seidio 1mm clip on case?

http://cgi.ebay.com/635-Seidio-Rubbe...QQcmdZViewItem

Or will the phone be too fat?

Re: Car Mount W/ Phone in Case?

Based on the review by this guy... Id be leary. It does look kinda hrm... cheap in construction.

That being said, it doesnt look like theres any room on the sides for an additional 1mm of casing. And since the charger connector appears to be positioned based on the overall design, I would say the casing, if you could slide it in, might set you off just enough to not be able to put it on the charger. I wouldnt risk it.

The suction cup is suprisingly...ok. It works at times. However the major problem I have is that the USB port on the cradle taht is used for charging falls through (it's held up by glue). Furthermore, the cradle is connected to the arm and it is constantly falling out. I would recommend users not purchase this item.

Re: Car Mount W/ Phone in Case?

Thanks,
Any ideas of being able to cradle the phone in car with the type of case I have? Right now I do it manually but it would be super cool if I could just slip it into a cradle.

Re: Car Mount W/ Phone in Case?

Personally,

Im trying to decide between this.
http://www.boxwave.com/products/mobi...gkit/index.htm

and this
http://www.seidioonline.com/index.as...ROD&ProdID=934

Im pretty much leaning towards the Seido one because it has a built in charger, works with and without a casing, allows you to open your phone to the keyboard, and if you go with the 4300X ($30 more) it has ports on the side for headphones (read tape/fm extension to your stereo) and mic. Although I havent figured out if you dont plug anything into those, will WM still default to them. Theres another discussion going on about the 4700 version where it has the build in speakerphone capability. Unfortunately, it overrides the bluetooth (a ROM problem, not a cradle problem)

Re: Car Mount W/ Phone in Case?

I take that back, I just noticed this on the bottom of the 4300X version

*NOTE: This G4300x is not compatible with the bluetooth headset or vehicle intergrated bluetooth system, if you have the most recent firmware update, if you are planing to use bluetooth headsets or bluetooth system please consider about the G4300s model.

Re: Car Mount W/ Phone in Case?

I have the Seidio charging car mount. I like it alot. I use the vent mount, and not the suction cup mount, and it holds the phone in pretty well. It bounces a little when I'm driving, but not too badly. I also use the Seidio rubberized case, and the phone with case fit in there well. The kit is a little pricey, but it fits my needs well.

Re: Car Mount W/ Phone in Case?

For that price you might as well go with the new seido one that has the power in, and you can slide your phone open to access the keyboard.

Nothing wrong with Velcro - I'm sure it works fine. As would Duct Tape, Zip Ties, Bubblegum, etc.

I just ordered the extended battery hardcase and 4300s from Seidio.
