Need Additional App for Mono Bluetooth Audio?

Ready to get flamed, but searching hasn't answered this and everyone else must be about two generations ahead of me in understanding bluetooth headset and audio basics.

Here is my first-grade level question: If I get a bluetooth phone headset, would I be able to listen to mono audio (specifically, playing audible books) out of the box or would I need some other sort of audio re-director application installed on my mogul. Don't care about stereo or anything like that, just getting mono audio to my ear.

Fire at will and thanks for any help...

Re: Need Additional App for Mono Bluetooth Audio?

You would need an application to open the bluetooth audio gateway. There are different variations of programs to do this, but that are all pretty much the same. I use Triangle powers BT Toggle.

Re: Need Additional App for Mono Bluetooth Audio?

The Plantronics Voyager 855 one-ear BT headset picks up high-quality audio from the Mogul just fine, and the bonus is when you get an incoming call and pick up, it silences your audio in the background until your call is finished.

Re: Need Additional App for Mono Bluetooth Audio?

hey that gateway opener app is great.

I just got my mogul so I have a dumb question about BT: when I press the button on my headset I want to be able to speak the voice tag for a contact to call him, but the phone just automatically dials the last person I dialed without letting me speak a voice tag. Is there any way to fix this? (I'm using a samsung WEP-410)

At least on my Jabra BT8010...A long press on the multifunction button redials the last number and a short tap opens the voice dialer.

Re: Need Additional App for Mono Bluetooth Audio?

Thanks again for the director, my headset isn't here yet to try it, but I will.

Just want to pass on one for the "It sucks to be me" department.... I bought a Freedom GPS bluetooth Freedom unit a couple of months ago (works great, by the way) so naturally the Mogul gps upgrade came out a couple of weeks ago so I don't really need it. Then late last week I ordered a nice expensive jawbone bluetooth headset (hasn't arrived yet) so naturally I found out today that I'm getting a new Ford with the built in synch speakerphone/audio option, so I probably won't be using that either. 0 for 2 in smart buying decisions.....
