Error 55 means device not found. Make sure the GPS settings in control panel are set for COM4. Next release (which is pretty much ready, except for the same power problems which seem to plague even GPSGate) removes the COM4 requirement letting it be on any COM port, as long as google maps works in auto configuration mode.
