Using Mogul as a Modem.

Hey all, just wanted to know if you could use the mogul as a modem for a laptop using a regular ($15) internet plan, don't have the cash for regular phone as modem. Also I've been looking for a working download of 'HTC audio manager' so it will work with 'HTC home customizer', mine keeps saying its not a trusted certificate. And if possible a little beat machine like FL studio although I know nothing is going to replace what a PC does but if anyone has links for those downloads please post.
And I'm using a standard from the store 2.17 rom if you need that info.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Using Mogul as a Modem.

first you have to sync your phone to your computer you can download activesync from microsofts website.

once you have it synced and connected then on your phone go to programs/internet sharing/

PC connecttion: USB
Network connections: sprint pcs
then click on connect

you should connect to the internet

I know how to set it up but I am asking, will my account be charged for that type of usage even though I only have the power vision plan and not phone as modem on the PPC-6800.

Re: Using Mogul as a Modem.

try pda net for a usb connection to pc but slow
better is the http://www.wmwifirouter.com/consumer/trial.php
turns your phone into a wireless modem (only prob i have so far is trying to secure it)
cant figure out how to keep everyone else around from being able to hit my connection
if you have the unlimited internet use you should be ok
i watch alot of sling box right from my phone and it uses way more band then the small amount of teathering i do.
but there has been talk about people getting stung by sprint and charged for suspected teathering.
i personally dont see how they can prove it if you have heavy use on your is connection anyway but the risk is on you for using it.

Re: Using Mogul as a Modem.

I second WMWiFiRouter. You can password it by removing the profile it creates and making a new one. I renamed and passworded mine. It's great. It's a little bit of a showoff thing but when I'm out somewhere and a friend wants to do something on their laptop I can tell them to just search for "pocketfullofwifi" and connect to that It's really become a killer feature of this phone for me.

Re: Using Mogul as a Modem.

Alright I will check those out, one more question is, if I got the 6700 could I do the tethering for free,I heard they don't get charged for that service because I wanted to use it for playing games on the internet lol on my laptop.

Where is the profile that it creates?
