Mortplayer will auto turn off and lock the screen when music is playing. You can set how long to delay and what button will unlock the screen. The player is great. It's a free download.

Do these players utilize bluetooth's AVRCP (lets you use the buttons on the headset to skip to the next song, pause/play, ect). HTC audio manager does not, but Windows media player does. HTC AM doesn't turn off sound when power button is pushed, but WMP does... i need one that has the best of both. which do you guys suggest?

"please do not hijack post." and please search before posting... OP: almost every player has some sort of "screen off" setting. try looking through your options for you player. tcmp lets you assign hot keys. wmp lets you reassign some hardware buttons. learn it love it live it.
