how do i change sounds of sms?

Different locations...

\Windows
\Windows\Rings
\My Documents\My Ringtones

Extensions can be MP3 or WMA. If you want to use an MP3 file as an SMS/E-mail/Voicemail notification it MUST be in the \Windows root directory.

every last one of my sounds are in the storage card root directory and I can use all sounds for all notifications without problems.

Are you selecting them via Sounds & Notifications? Have you done any registry edits? Or are you using a 3rd party app to do this?

yes. no. no. I put them all in the card, once upon a time I did do a reg edit but then I had to do a hard reset and the phone recognized them in the card without the edit. I've done several hard resets since then for various reasons and the phone always sees all the sounds without problems. I can use every sound for every notification.

Uhmmm never did on mine...

I like my ringtones on my main memory though, don't want to risk any delays because of reading speeds, etc.

I cant seem to edit my text msg sound..my ringtones ive loaded on the phone work with the phone ringtone..but not text ringtone..what do i need to do?place them in a dif folder?
