WMWIFI and Playstation3

Hello,

Long time listner....first time poster.

I've been using WMWIFI for home internet access now for a while. My laptop and desktop have no problems finding my mogul as an access point.

I just purchased a Playstation3 (mostly for the bluray). It has a wireless card built in to access some of Sony's online stuff.

My problem is that the PS3 cannot find my mogul as an access point. Any guesses? I've searched to earth's end, however, it doesn't seem there are many people trying to do what I am...and unfortunately I can't exactly call sprint and ask them.

Ok...found the answer...the PS3 is not compatible with using Ad-hoc networks...

Do ya'll think that there is a way I could wire the PS3 to a computer that is ultimately using the 6800 as the access point and get it to work?

That sounds like way more trouble than its worth. But probably. You can put a computer between your internet connection and your wireless router so i imagine you could do the same here. You would need to share you internet connection with a wireless router and connect to that access point from your PS3. Sounds like a headach but probably possible.

yes u could hymanr do internet connection sharing on the computer and a cross connect between computer and ps3

I just hope you don't plan on playing games online. I doubt even with reva it's reliable enough to play online

its realiable enough if you have good signal. XBOX360 works havent tried PS3, just got one though. What about tethering to PS3 straight from Mogul with usb data cable?

Tried it. it doesn't work it doesn't recognize it as a modem just a usb device

I remember reading that having wmwifi work in infrastructure mode was on the list of to do's by the developer. So it may work down the road.

I could do the following?

Internet via mogul tethered to my desktop....

Connect a wireless router to desktop and then the PS3 could work?
