Re: WMWifiRouter - Need help
Does anyone know if there is a charge for internet sharing? I am unsure if this is the same as tethering and am trying to avoid the $85,000 phone bill.

Re: WMWifiRouter - Need help
Many of these questions are in their FAQ. I have yet to see anyone get hit for tethering on Sprint using ICS or USBmodem or similar.
KB0802011: Providers and detecting tethering We often receive the question if providers can detect if the user is tethering. WMWifiRouter does not do anything specifically that lets your provider know you are tethering, though in some cases, Internet Connection Sharing might. Aside from that, if you are a heavy tetherer, your provider will always be able to detect this - it's the question if they actually do. If you tether once in a while to browse some simple webpages or check e-mail, chances are fairly small that this will raise any flags on the provider's end. However, if you are a heavy user who uses a lot of bandwidth or download through P2P programs like BitTorrent, the chances of their systems noticing something are a lot larger. Though we have not heard back from any user that they have been charged for tethering, we always advise getting a data plan that allows this. |

Re: WMWifiRouter - Need help
I didnt really mean a profile per se. I meant delete the SID that is created by the WMWifiRouter install which is called WMWifiRouter and create a new one. This can be done on your phone or on your computer you just set up a new wireless network connection, make sure its ad-hoc and apply security if you want and then connect.

Re: WMWifiRouter - Need help
I can't get it to work. I have the program connected, Wifi on, but I can't find the network.
Am I supposed to see the WMWifiRouter connection on my phone too? I don't.

Re: WMWifiRouter - Need help
Ok, I have some questions I need some answering too...
A. Wtf is tethering exactly? Data services mixed with wifi services? B. Is tethering illegal? C. Am I going to get charged ten zillion dollars by sprint if im caught? D. When I had wmwifirouter working last, I tried dloading an update for a program (100mb) to test how well it worked...it stopped at like 57mb through. I havent been able to get wmwifirouter to work since....soooooo- D. WMWifiRouter was working fine, but now it hangs with this on the screen.. "Connected Waiting for ICS and WLAN..." - wtf does this mean? |

one step to help others out though where it says Wifi in (step 3) it means the "network cards" tab also if you turn your Wifi switch on and run the mwwifi program prior to starting the above listed steps, you will then see the wmwifi router listed under the "Network Cards"tab of the connection settings. it did lock up the connection making me have to put in a wep key i tipped the scales for ya |
