Cell tower update?

I want to say hi to everyone in this comunity, this is my first post even though i've been a member for a couple of months.
Yesterday I went to a 3rd party sprint store to add another phone to my plan, Everything went fine but after she asked me to call *2 for a cell tower update on my titan , i'm running the un-released 3.16.651.0 rom and don't know if it mess with it, should I call and run the update? my cell service hasn't had any gotten any worse than before.
