I ask because of the new esn method for the mogul. if it is done that way we could clone to a basic handset esn, install arcsoft and wed be good to go? maybe even receive inbound mail in a decent fashion with the porting of alltels mms software.
yes i do think sprint has some sort of filter. Basically its a Smartphone or PDA Blocker. All other phones are sending MMS.
this would be a great idea, question is how? How do we clone it?

You have to have an email account set up in poutlook. But it can link to any email account (POP3, IMAP, or Exchange)

Just to let you know, it is illegal, so be careful. That being said, I am curious. My advice would be to use an ESN for an Sprint phone that is at least EV-DO capable. That way, data usage won't look so fishy. A Razr V3m ESN for example. Even better would be a smartphone that does have MMS (maybe a blackberry's ESN?). I have no idea how their end sees ESN's so I can't confirm on that method working, but there it is. Good luck.

yeah i know.. it may be illegal, which itself is laughable, but at least its not immoral, like sprints disabling of mms on a 600$ phone.

ive got a a900 cloned now for a "barphone" and ive got a v9m with a clean ESN that ive been trying to replace the a900 with. the v9ms esn is apparently impossible to change without the expensive hardware so needless to say i was excited when i saw that post.

does anyone have WMDC 6.1 64bit? giving vista another shot and apparently forgot to save the installation file i had for it.. unable to download it from the website...

Re: nueMMS - beta test sprint workaround

Sorry to rain on the parade of just changing the ESN, but I did the opposite, I cloned a Samsung a900 to my mogul, and pic mail works great, so they are not filtering based on your ESN. It is some type of user agent string that is attached to the MMS message.

Re: nueMMS - beta test sprint workaround

This is all very confusing. Suggestion. Put a link to Microsoft for the .net 3.5exe and the cab file and the nueMMS on the first page so people dont have to thumb through 34 pages of stuff.

Also why are yall talking about PUSHing emails or emailing pictures at all. I thought the point of this program was to not have to do that. I mean can you just sent a email to #@pktpix.com from a IMAP or POP server?

I finally got neuMMS to run on my device after SEVERAL hours of trail and error and reading ALL of this thread and it does NOT work! I have sent test messages with the pktpix and with picking the actual carrier and nothing works. Could someone type out a step by step of who to opperate the software. I would more than love to donate to this developer but at this point I am so glad I didnt have to pay for it up front because I would be demanding my money back. I have learned a lot just trying to get the program running on my ppc but now I just want the dang thing to work. Someone help please. I am waiting to pay this man.

Pktpix is confirmed not to work as of a few days ago. Carriers should still work, however. You are not really correct when you say that the point of nueMMS is NOT meant to send emails as a form of MMS. In fact that is exactly what nueMMS does. It is simply a front-end so that it feels more like MMS. It sends an email with the picture as the attachment So if you are having problems, 1) you need a working email configuration on your phone. 2) make sure the email is actually sent. nueMMS sent emails by itself 100% of the time when I used my msft exchange account, but for some reason a few times it did not send when using my GMail account (most of the time it did). The talk you were referring to about push email and such is because when a reply is sent from somebody who just received your picture message, it is sent back to the email address from which nueMMS sent it. There was some talk about a way to make it so that the replies would go to your phone as a text/picture message instead. Unfortunately, for reasons unknown, it doesn't seem to work.
I'm sorry that you have been so frustrated with the program, but I assure you it does exactly what it is supposed to. Nothing more, nothing less. It is not No2Chem's fault if pktpix is down or your email is not set up correctly. Make sure the 2 suggestions above are working, and nueMMS may take a bit longer for messages to go through. Be patient, and I'm sure we can get working.

OK so this is what I dont understand if all of our phones have MMS disabled (what is MMS?) and this program is simply sending emails then *because nueMMS is still currently not working for me even when I put in the carriers information* can I just send picture mail from my yahoo account to peoples cell phones using the info provided from the nueMMS program for the different mail carriers like #@message.altell.com as a reg email from my POP3 server that is already set up on my PPC? And if that is the case then what is the need for the program outside of telling me what the email address is for all the different carriers are.
