Yup, I know but its good that you pointed that out. I have always been a little confused when it came to bytes and bits. Ofcourse the famous question has always been,...why when I purchased a 160gb harddrive I dont give a 160GB?!?

Actually 160GB hard drives is truly 160 GIGABYTES (160,000,000,000 Bytes)

No thats DEFINITELY not T3. I normally get a speed of 27500kbps download and 3000kbps upload (Verizon FiOs)

The funny thought behind that was it isnt 160gb(around 152gb) after formatting.

Oh I see what you mean now. Well, the 8GB missing is due to the formatting information, such as FAT (file alocation table) and NTFS. The missing space also includes the partition table. There are many other theories for this as well. I believe that there are other things in there as well such as the actual firmware and parameters of the drive.

Re: Does this look like REV. A? (Houston)

the file system doesn't take up that much space, and the partition table is only one sector.
The missing 8GB is because HDD manufacturers are bastards and use the decimal definition of gigabytes (10^x), while Windows (and just about everything else), uses the correct binary definition (2^x).

Re: Does this look like REV. A? (Houston)

Wow,sorry if people are skeptical of those speeds, they are amazing. Certainly within the realm of what rev a can do though. Seeing numbers like that, the first thing people think is "is that real?!"
