Text Messaging Problem

I picked up a xv6800 today and have an issue.

I can send texts out to all users on different networks and they receive them. I only receive the responses back from those on verizon network ( same as me ).

I have been in store, and on 611 with no solution.

I have soft reset, and did all the updates via *228.

Any suggestions?

responses back? Do you mean delivery notifications? I believe that verizon is the only company that uses delivery confirmation even with their non smartphones it usually has a delivered time only with verizon customers. I havent seen anyother companys phone do this

Well I work for a Sprint dealer and I have this problem all the time when porting. Did you port from another carrier? Either way, it sounds like a provisioning issue. If you ported, make sure your original service provider canceled the line (cricket is famous for keeping the going-how they do it, I'm not really sure). If you didn't port, just give it a day or so for your number to provision through the network.

I did have my number ported from sprint to verizon. Do I need to contact someone at sprint?

To clarify, I cannot receive incoming text messages from anyone unless they are on verizon network.

Thanks for the responses. Verizon seems lost on the issue.

I had the same problem recently with Sprint...
This is how they explained to me in a NON TECHNICAL WAY...
apparently the #'s they used somehow became corrupt and when on certain towers there were problems.
They had to re-enter all the info as if it was a brand new phone on the network.
Since then it has worked flawlessly.
